Thoughts and Goings On!

At the end of May, my husband and I set out on a huge, wild, and most certifiably insane trip of a lifetime. We brought a very large portion of his very large family all the way to Disney World. With this many people and the amount of time we had to save, we knew that staying on property was just not an option. Sometimes, that is the case, unfortunately. Sad day. But, never the less, we were going. We also decided to drive. It was an eighteen hour trip, including a few stops.
Being completely honest, I was TOTALLY dreading the drive, but you guys, the drive from southern Missouri all the way to Florida was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! Seriously, the greenery and the mountains, Nashville and Atlanta lit up at night. Oh it was soooo pretty. That being said, it was pretty, but I'll stick with flights. I'm a super-fan of convenience and driving just does not fall into that category. I am just not a fan of sitting in a car for long periods of time. Another detail that was different than all of the other trips I've taken: we stayed off property. Don't get me wrong, we stayed at the Regal Palms Resort, and it was fantastic! (10/10 would recommend) They have a lazy river and a salt water pool. They have a volleyball court, giant connect four, giant jenga blocks, hair braiding, a tiki bar, a waterslide, and music playing! There is also a grocery store and a restaurant on site and plenty more within walking distance just around the corner. The rentals were four-bedroom and were only $95 a night! It was a great deal and an awesome time. We had decided to stay off property because we were also going to the beach and Universal Orlando. However, the convenience level was a definite zero. We were only about twelve miles from Disney property, but each commute took us about thirty minutes to an hour. Once we arrived to the park we were attending we had to pay the $25 parking fee. So, to be clear, it took us wayyyy longer to get there and then we had to pay to park. I understand the parking fees, but it was just super inconvenient after having stayed on property several times and being able to take advantage of the on property transportation. Really, there is no comparison. All in all, we had a fantastic trip. It was my 25th birthday and I had a bunch of my favorite people in my all-time favorite place!
